What happens in a sexual health consultation?
Going for a sexual or reproductive health consultation is just like going to a clinic for any other health matter - but talking about sex can be awkward for some people. We've put together some information about what may happen when you visit the SHFPACT Clinic . All consultations, files and notes are completely confidential - including for young people.
Charges & Fees SHFPACT is a not-for-profit charity and operates on a break-even model. Our Fee Structure aims to be fair. Fees and charges apply and are payable at the time of consultation. Concession rates are available to young people 21 years or younger, full-time students and Centrelink HealthCare/Pensioner/Concession holders. Please bring your Medicare card with you; as you may be able to claim Medicare rebates for services received at the SHFPACT Clinic. Please inquire about our fees and charges at the time of making your booking.
Clinical Services
Clinical Services for People with Disabilities
SHFPACT's Clinic is fully wheelchair accessible, and our clinicians work closely with SHFPACT's Disability Educators to facilitate access to sexual and reproductive health services for people with disabilities, including mobility, physical and intellectual disabilities . For more information, or to request assistance with an appointment, phone SHFPACT on (02) 6247 3077.
SHFPACT is a Clinical Training School
SHFPACT participates in accredited training activities for Doctors and Registered Nurses and our clients are advised that some appointments operate in the context of a training session. A visiting practitioner may be present during the consultation along with our experienced and specialised practitioners. Clients will be advised at time of booking whether their consultation may have a visiting GP or Nurse present - alternative appointment can be made if this does not suit a client.
