| IUD Insertion Workshop |
IUD Insertion Workshop for GPs SHFPACT is offering an IUD Insertion Workshops for GPs (4 hours) on 21 August 2010, from 9am to 1pm. This course is accredited by the RACGP and attracts 40 Category 1 CME Points for the theory component, and additional points for the clinical attachment on application by participating practitioners to the RACGP. The workshop covers:
Pre-reading Materials are supplied. The workshop will take place at the SHFPACT Clinical Training School, Level One, 28 University Avenue, Canberra. At the completion of this workshop, GPs will be able to independently perform IUD insertions and counselling.
The course consists of a 4 hour theory session and an optional clinical attachment of 2 to 3 sessions at the SHFPACT Training Clinic in Canberra. A sound knowledge of women's sexual and reprocutive health issues is assumed (for example, the SHF&PA Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health for GPs). Course costs are $195 for the theory workshop, with an additional $300 charge for the optional clinical attachment.
