What does Transgender mean?

Written by SHFPACT. Posted in Transgender

Transgender is one way a person may choose describe themselves when the sex they were assigned at birth does not line up with the gender identity they feel they truly are.

Not all people who do not identify with a binary approach to sex and gender will use this way of describing themselves. A gender binary approach works on the assumption that the world is exclusively divided into people who are male or female, and these two categories are readily identifiable by genital appearance, chromosomes or reproductive systems, and align with the gender identity a person feels themselves to be.
