We offer a range of education opportunities for students, people living with a disability, parents and carers.
Providing sexuality and relationships education is a challenging task.
Schools and teachers often feel the responsibility of addressing this
important work but lack confidence or the resources to do this
SHFPACT has been supporting public, private and faith-based
schools in Canberra to deliver age-appropriate, accurate and
responsible sexuality education since the 1970s. SHFPACT's
Education Team reach thousands of students in Canberra's schools
- Years 5 & 6 Puberty Workshops
- High School and College Education
- LGBTQIA + Resources
SHFPACT has created and collated many resources that can be used when teaching relationships and sexuality. These resources have been tried and tested by our Education Team!
The Sexual Health, Lifestyle and Relationships Program (SHLiRP) is a collaboration between Sexual Health and Family Planning ACT (SHFPACT) and The Canberra Sexual Health Centre, located at The Canberra Hospital, that brings sexual health screening clinics and relationships and sexuality education to secondary colleges in the ACT.
SHFPACT can deliver tailored health promotion and education sessions to specific groups of interested participants. SHFPACT works with a range of community partners to deliver activities together that promote the sexual health of people in the Canberra community.
Where feasible, SHFPACT can provide an information or health promotion stall that promotes SHFPACT and the services we provide.
To organise education or health promotion sessions, to enquire about working in partnership with SHFPACT or to organise a SHFPACT stall at an event, please contact the Education and Health Promotion Team on 02 6247 3077 or email us from the link below.
