Education

We offer a range of education opportunities for students, people living with a disability, parents and carers.

The SHFPACT Education Team provides age appropriate relationships and sexuality education in the form of workshops for class sized groups, presentations to larger groups and parent information evenings. We work in schools as well as in community and sporting groups. Our educators also provide support for teachers and schools developing and implementing whole school approaches to relationships and sexuality education for all year levels.

SCHOOLS

Providing sexuality and relationships education is a challenging task.
Schools and teachers often feel the responsibility of addressing this
important work but lack confidence or the resources to do this
effectively.

SHFPACT has been supporting public, private and faith-based
schools in Canberra to deliver age-appropriate, accurate and
responsible sexuality education since the 1970s. SHFPACT's
Education Team reach thousands of students in Canberra's schools
each year.

RESOURCES

SHFPACT has created and collated many resources that can be used when teaching relationships and sexuality. These resources have been tried and tested by our Education Team!

OUTREACH

SHFPACT can deliver tailored health promotion and education sessions to specific groups of interested participants. SHFPACT works with a range of community partners to deliver activities together that promote the sexual health of people in the Canberra community.

Where feasible, SHFPACT can provide an information or health promotion stall that promotes SHFPACT and the services we provide.

To organise education or health promotion sessions, to enquire about working in partnership with SHFPACT or to organise a SHFPACT stall at an event, please contact the Education and Health Promotion Team on 02 6247 3077 or email us from the link below.
