Safer Girls Safer Women Inaugural Symposium 2022
Safer Girls, Safer Women, creating a culture of social and sexual safety with, and for, girls and women with disability.
The Safer Girls Safer Women Project is a three year project to develop a national framework and best practice guidelines for sexual health, respectful relationships and consent education. It is for all states and territories and will be both delivered directly to girls and women with disabilities, and to sector staff who work with and support them.
This symposium will be led by girls and women with disability and will launch the conversation with the community. We will talk about the key principles and elements that the guidelines should contain, with a main focus on girls and women with disability exploring what safety is, means, and how together we can create it, everywhere, always.
Women with disability are strongly encouraged and will be supported to attend.
The venue will have a Hearing Loop, AUSLAN Interpreters, and will be live captioned and live streamed. The venue is wheelchair accessible with amenities.
